We had a great, but busy week this week! The sun has been shining and it has been SO uncharacteristically hot for June that it has felt hard in the afternoons/evenings to even want to get anything done at our house. I have no desire to cook or clean or even be in the house because it gets so stifling. We are brainstorming what we are going to do, but planning on getting a window AC unit for our main floor of the house so I don't feel like I'm going to die all the time. Couple that with being in my first trimester of pregnancy and I feel like I'm going to die. I have little energy as it is and am tired enough as it is, that this is sure NOT helping me! ;)
Evan got home early from school on Monday and took Harrison on a bike ride before he had to go to work. What a great dad he is to our son!
Trying a bike ride/run for Jack for the first time... we are still undecided if this is going to work.
Emma came over in the afternoon/evening to play. Harrison LOVES having her over. Of course, we found out the next day that Emma came down with chicken pox. Here is to hoping none of us get it! Harrison is immunized against it but could still get them (just a minor case if he does). Fingers crossed that doesn't happen!
On Tuesday, we went and played at "Benjamin's" park with Zandy and her kids. Harrison loves going to this park, but he always leaves filthy dirty because he loves taking off his shoes and playing in the rocks.
We have a ton of raspberries this year. Harrison (and Jack!) are loving them. Harrison also loves water so much and has been totally loving playing in the sprinkler, spraying from the hose, and playing in his little kiddie pool we got him.
We went to go visit daddy at work since we didn't get to see him in between school and work. Diloy, Evan's coworker, shared her fruit with Harrison. You can see how happy that made him! ;)
Caught this picture was we were leaving... Evan got a "new" grill off Craig's List and this is how he chose to get it home. Cracks me up!
After we left Evan's work, we went to the park where I ran a FB meeting for my team while Harrison played. This kid loves parks that have rocks. He always just wants to dig in them and always has to have a bath after going to the park as he is usually all over gray/dirty from the rocks.

On Wednesday, we went to my midwife to get some bloodwork done. Harrison and Evan came so they could hear the heartbeat with the doppler... little did I know that we could already see the baby on the abdominal ultrasound! It made me so happy. I know it sounds crazy with all the pregnancy maladies I've been having, but I kept thinking negatively and doubting this week that I was even pregnant. Seeing the baby wave on the ultrasound and knowing that I really am pregnant made me feel so much better. ALSO... something crazy... I asked the midwife if this spot was my bladder. She said no, it wasn't my bladder. It looked like an empty egg sack, meaning I might have been pregnant with twins and only one turned into a viable pregnancy. Crazy!
After the midwife appointment, we took Harrison to Chinook park. We had to leave when someone came to clean out the portapotty a hundred feet away and all the stinky air blew down our way. While we were there, Harrison LOVED this swirling climbing toy. He was so proud of himself that he was able to climb it and play on it.
We got our first zucchini this week! We cooked it up and ate it. Delicious! I can't wait for MANY more zucchini to come! ;)

On Thursday, we went to Deep Lake and had a takeout Mexican lunch in between swimming.

This boy LOVES water. He wanted to stay there all day long and just play and play and play.
We went early on Friday to the chiropractor for Patient Appreciation Day (FREE!) and then made some stops at Target and Home Depot. Harrison LOVES driving the tractors there. We seriously cannot get him off them without usually some sort of tricking to get him to go without crying.
As we were leaving Home Depot, we decided to visit Oma. I was so happy to see her. Something that cracked me up about being there was when I told Oma how I saw the baby on the ultrasound. She said, "Oh, ja... so is the baby all you think about now?" I said that I think about Harrison and selling books. She was glad to hear that I'm still focusing on my Usborne business. Oma is just so funny about having more children. I think she has some PTSD from having 5 children so quickly without help and then immigrated to America. I think her experiences have lent themselves to her wanting her grandchildren to focus on making money and having enough to give to your children to make them comfortable and happy.
When we got home from Oma's, I had received my President's Club box with $100+ of FREE BOOKS! Clearly it made Harrison and I so happy. We starting reading the books right away. I love that my boy loves reading as much as I do!
Seeing the new Anna Hibiscus book. Perfect for us right now as it is about her mother having twins.
It was so hot on Friday that Harrison and I ran through the sprinkler and ate popsicles together. I usually don't ever eat popsicles, but it was so hot that eating one actually sounded appealing to me.
Okay... I had to get this picture to remember. That little cup has minced garlic in it. Harrison LOVES garlic. He loves to smell it and lick the minced garlic off the spoon whenever I get garlic out of the container to use for cooking. This time, after he licked the garlic off of the spoon, he asked me for more garlic. He didn't end up eating it all, but the fact that he wanted to eat RAW, minced garlic still cracks me up. My grandpa would be proud! He always paid us to eat garlic when we were kids telling us how healthy it was for us.
On Saturday, we went to the Buckley Log Show. I had never been before, which is kind of amazing because I've lived in the area a majority of my life. Check out this crazy burl wood!
Harrison loved all of the construction machines... and that they had candy at the parade! I had to hide/give away most of the candy we got otherwise he would have eaten all of it in one sitting.
It got so hot that we finally just had to leave and not finish watching the parade.
We met wup with Zandy and her family. Harrison put on these gloves he got out of the trunk of my car as we were packing up to leave. Funny boy! Any time he sees gloves, he wants to put them on... even in 85+ degree temperatures! ;) He was pretending that they were his monster hands.
This was at 10pm on Saturday night... DYING OF HEAT!
Harrison and I didn't go to church today. I woke with with a terrible headache and just felt so sick to my stomach all day long. Our house was so hot as by 8am, it was already 78 degrees outside and we had left our windows open with fans blowing the hot air in before we realized how hot it was ouside. I just felt so sick to my stomach and had to lay down for a while in Harrison's room so I could be in AC. I am grateful that Evan played with Harrison so I could relax for a while.
This evening, we finally left the house for the first time and stopped to visit Evan at work. Harrison loves seeing his dad so much and I know it makes Evan happy that we come visit him too.
Love seeing these two walk hand-in-hand. Harrison wanted Evan to take him to go visit "the old people," as Harrison calls the clients.
Evan and Harrison picked and ate cherries from the trees. Evan was trying to teach Harrison to eat the cherry and not the pits. It was hilarious watching him try to figure out how to get the pit out. He kept trying multiple methods, some of them ending up with most of the cherry on the ground. Evan and I were cracking up.
After visiting Evan at work, Harrison and I went to Zandy and Shane's house to eat dinner and play. I asked Zandy if we could come over and eat dinner because I could not cook in our 80+ degree house. It was really nice of them to have us over. After we ate, the boys were itching to go outside. Just like the boys that they are, they had the best time digging in the dirt and playing outside.
