The past 2 days have been snow days in the school district I teach. These 2 days, plus MLK, Jr. Day Monday, 2 weekend days, and 1 day off on Friday for a doctor's appointment means that I haven't been at school since last Thursday. It has been glorious and just what I needed at this stage of pregnancy!
Because I started watching 3 of my sister's kids last night for her while she's in Hawaii with the hubby and other 2, today it was exciting to have a snow day! I loved watching the joy on the girls' faces as they saw the snow this morning. We had fun getting all decked out in snow gear! We played outside for 1.5 hours and have a whole yard full of foot prints and a HUGE, NOT-put-together snowman to show for it. The snowman turned out to be SO big that we couldn't lift the second part onto the bottom part because it was too heavy. We needed a man to help us out with that. Seeing as none were around, our snowman is in shambles until we get him put together right, carrot nose and all. :) For now, we're enjoying the warmth again and the girls enjoyed huge cupfuls of eggnog hot chocolate, my niece's own recipe.
Here are a few pictures I snapped with my fancy camera this morning. Of course the dog wanted to be a part of everything! She was jumping on the oldest one (below) and acting strange for a girl dog, if you know what I mean.
She loves her water... in any form! She couldn't help but eat snow the whole time we were out there. We had to stear her clear of the yellow and brown snow made by the dog, though! :)
