Seattle's Ice Storm

As many of you probably heard on the news, the greater Seattle area had a major ice storm this last week. Let's just say that we're not equipped for TONS of snow and ice because we usually have VERY mild winters. If we want snow and ice, we just drive up into any of the mountains in the area to ski, snow board, sled, snow shoe, ice climb, etc. After living in Rexburg, Idaho through 5 winters, I have to say that I prefer this method of going to the snow rather than having the snow come to me!

Nevertheless, it was still fun to play with my sister's kids in the snow. As mentioned in this post, I've been trading off "mama" duties between my brother-in-law's parents while my sister is with her husband and 2 sons in Hawaii for business (and pleasure!). I have the girls for 5 days this week. I really love being around this crazy girls!

They have a swing set and a climbing rope... check out the ice on the rope!

Check out all of the branches that fell off their trees due to the heavy ice.

My niece made this snowman all by herself! (Well, I rolled the bottom out for her, but she did the rest.) Isn't it creative how she thought to do the hair and hat? Love it! In this picture, her little sister is loving it too. :)

Showing the layer of ice that was on top of the snow... without gloves! She is hard core!

The car was frozen solid!
