So Much Joy

First off, let me say that I just realized this is my 250th blog post and that Wednesday, July 29th, will be the 4 year anniversary of my blog. Crazy how time flies and how much has happened in the last 4 years. I've lived in 3 different states. I've been to Europe twice. I've had amazing jobs and experiences. I've fallen in love. I am engaged to marry my best friend. Life has treated me well.

One of the most momentous occasions of the past 4 years happened on Saturday. I went through the temple for the first time to receive my own endowment. It was such a wonderful experience! I felt so blessed to have all of my siblings, Evan and his family, and so many friends with me in the temple. The entire session consisted mostly of my family and friends. It was amazing to be there with people I love so much in a place so full of joy and peace. I've never had such a good day!

The best part about it was being there with Evan. I feel like I now truly understand after going through the temple what eternal marriage means and cannot wait to be sealed to him for time and all eternity this coming Saturday. I told Evan that I never loved him more than I did being with him in the temple. Being there with him helped me to love him even more than I thought was possible. I'm so excited to go back again and to make regular temple attendance a part of our married life. I feel so blessed to have had that opportunity to make sacred covenants with Heavenly Father that will bless my life for eternity if I abide by them.

Aww sara this post made me cry. I am so happy for you and reading what you wrote about the feelings you had in the temple were beautiful! I can tell you that after ten years I feel that way every time I am in the temple with my eternal sweetheart! Make that choice to go any chance you guys get, especially before kids, then it's not as easy to just go:)
Again the whole family is so excited for you and will be thinking of you guys this weekend!!!

You said exactly what I felt the first time I went through. I hadn't loved Travis more up until that point. In the Temple. It's such a peaceful, emotional, beautiful, incredible feeling. And I feel that way every time we attend.

We are thrilled for you guys.

I waited until the day before we got married, and it made all the craziness of wedding planning melt away and helped me remember what that amazing day was really, truly about. I'm so happy for you! You both deserve every happiness!

You say the most insightful things. I had the same experience when I went through the temple for the first time. It was that day that all the jitters, fears, stress melted away and I knew that being sealed to Derrick was going to be the the first of many blessings the Lord would allow me to choose to have, and it was wonderful! We love you and will be thinking of you this weekend.

It kills me that I can't come to Washington. You are an amazing person and I'm so happy that you were able to receive your endowments, I remember feeling such peace and knowing that it was only the beginning. I am SO incredibly happy for you and Evan. I'll be thinking about you ALL day tomorrow and I'll probably cry a bit because you're doing the most important thing you can for you and your family. What a blessing! I love you and can't wait to hear all about your special day!
